Videos were added throughout the OP to demonstrate how to run the scripts or install the premades, if you have never done this before. Scripts have been made to simplify building, and thus replaced the build instructions in OP. Back now.Īll the premades are updated in the OP and the first comment below the OP. Had major life events occur and had to take the time. I also apologize for the long time, no updates. Let me first apologize for how long winded this update is going to be, it’s a couple weeks-worth of notes. Maybe next time I can make it work.ģ) Maybe start with a 10 lb hammer. I fail at the same place every time I try. I thought this would work but alas not gonna happen. Neither do I.Ģ) I have tried MANY times to install a Linux environment on my Techno BF7 but have never succeeded even following several videos on YT. It was up and running but termux did not know the right commands to connect it. So I tried to use the direct link you provided and it requires a google email address. my termux stopped because it did not recognize the tightvncserver. Sorry I know I am as dumb as a rock but I tried.ġ) Why use a vnc that is made for windows? To add the line to install all the xfce etc. You can select any icon you would like by hitting "select icons from" and then the "image file" tab Switch back to panel 1, You may edit your icon size if you like under Appearance, then switch to the items menu and select applications menu. Switch to panel 2 and select the minus button to remove it. Now right click on your panel and highlight panel, then select panel preferences. Now select the Placement tab and move the ball to the middle. Now go into settings > window manager tweaks and uncheck Draw frame around selected window while cycling. Now go into settings > default applications and you can change the file manager and terminal emulator. Next go into settings > windows manager and select your theme, yaru-dark is what is used in the premade. Now go into settings > appearance and select the color you would like for your windows. This will load our wallpapers into settings, make a selection! Now highlight the backgrounds folder and select open at the top right. This should open you into the xfce backgrounds folder, at the top left, click on the "share" tab. In desktop settings, select Folder, then select Other. Right click on your desktop and select desktop settings. Adding the right gnome configs that is.Īpt install ubuntu-wallpapers gedit plank yaru-theme-gtk yaru-theme-icon xfce4-appmenu-plugin rofi git -y This I think is partially what is giving troubles in getting gnome to run in ubuntu. We learn how to edit the config files for both a vnc and an rdp setup. Or maybe they will eventually update the packages. Maybe there are settings to fix this or a better browser solution can be found. Firefox is running but is slower than on jammy, and it crashes in rdp unless we edit settings. Lunar's xrdp config is not setup for xfce, so we have to add that line.Ĭhromium does not run well on Lunar, in my experience thus far, and won't be added to the premades. Lunar's RDP firefox crashes, so one would have to fix that. Lunar also needs the dbus-x11 package and terminal, they aren't bundled with xfce4 like on Jammy. Lunar needs the vnc config edited to get the gui to display remotely. Lunar forces you to set an 8 character password, with much more pressure on security. Lunar's key differences from Jammy seem to be security based as evidenced in the changes below: Going to include directions below for anyone who would want to build their own Premades are uploading now and will be added to the guide shortly. This was a good learning experience but personally I will be sticking with Jammy.
